Truck Technician Mid-County Truck Center

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Truck Technician to join our dedicated shop team. If you’re passionate about providing fast, friendly, and efficient service, and are eager to work on a variety of vehicles, we want to hear from you! This role reports directly to the Shop Foreman.

As an Truck Technician, your duties will include:

Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including changing oil, greasing components, replacing filters, thermostats, brakes, and exhaust systems.

Tire Service: Repair, change, mount, and inspect tires for customers; become familiar with our auto, truck, implement, and tractor tire inventory.

Quality & Efficiency: Ensure vehicle “comebacks” are kept to a minimum by performing thorough and accurate work.

Shop Operations: Use work orders for all services performed, ensuring they are neatly, legibly, and completely filled out immediately upon job completion and submitted to the Shop Manager for billing.

Customer Service & Sales: Provide fast and friendly service, follow recommended checklist procedures, and actively sell replacement items such as wiper blades, fan belts, batteries, and tires.

Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free personal work area, including tools, floors, and benches, to enhance the professional image of our services. Assist with common shop housekeeping duties as assigned.

Professionalism: Wear a clean uniform daily, maintain personal neatness, and protect customers’ vehicles from grease and dirt by using covers and floor mats.

Continuing Education: Stay up-to-date and knowledgeable on products available and attend all scheduled safety, informational, product, merchandising, and cooperative meetings.

Co-op Support: Be willing to assist in other areas of the Co-op as assigned by the Service Manager.

The primary objective of this role is to offer efficient, high-quality service in the shop. You’ll ensure our existing customers remain satisfied and return for additional services while helping to build new business by effectively meeting the needs of all new customers.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • A current Driver’s License (Class C or equivalent).
  • Basic truck driving experience is preferred.
  • Willingness to respond to after-hours customer emergencies.
  • Ability to accurately and neatly fill out reports and work orders.
  • Willingness to attend all safety and informational schools/meetings.
  • CDL requirements (if driving trucks):
  • CDL may be required within 6 months of employment.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
  • Must be able to pass required drug and alcohol tests.

Pay Scale: $15.00 – $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Work Hours: As scheduled by the Service Manager. You must be available to work a Saturday rotation.
