As part of Mid-County Coop’s agronomy team, Steve Salz of rural Mayer enjoys being involved in sales, soil sampling, custom application, delivery, and more.
Salz grew up on a farm near Fairmont, and was a business owner for about 20 years. Wanting to get back into agronomy, he began working at MidCounty part time in 2012, before becoming a fulltime staff member.
Salz and his wife, Cheryl, have two children; Lesley graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a business/marketing degree, and Joe is studying at St. Thomas, pursuing a degree in actuary science.
